In order to maintain the integrity of the online trading marketplace, sellers must act honestly when selling items on eJay.

Item listings and descriptions must not:

• Mislead buyers or mis-represent an item
  • e.g. Suggesting an item is new when it is not
  • e.g. Giving false descriptions regarding the capabilities of an item
  • e.g. False retail value of an item
  • Offer free extras on merit of the winning bid, without disclosing the minimum winning bid required
• Use incorrect photos
  • Using a photo of a competing product
  • Using an unrealistically edited photo of the original item
  • Deliberately hiding any known flaws or faults of the item
• Engage in keyword spamming
  • Use keywords or names of an unrelated product or item in the title or description
  • Use keywords or names of competing items in the title or description
  • E.g. "Canon 5.1MP Camera not Sony CyberShot"
  • Keyword spam occurs when a seller crams irrelevant keywords into his or her item's title. For example, someone selling a pair of Nike shoes may put "not Reebok, Adidas, Kappa, Apple, Nokia" into the title field. But this is not allowed as it may mislead potential buyers or cause the listing to be included in search results to which it is not relevant. Keyword spam causes confusion and leads to a poor experience on Auctions.
  • Please use your best judgment. Use keywords that are relevant to what you are selling. eJay reserves the right to remove auctions for items that are in violation of the eJay Terms of Service and the Auction Guidelines. For more information, refer to the Auction Guidelines.
• Use offensive or defamitory language or words in the item title, description or photos (unless this is a feature of the item).
• Include links to websites outside of eJay which cause the buyer to purchase the item off-site

Items found to be in breach of this policy will be subject to removal from eJay without notice. Sellers may also be barred from selling on eJay.
