  Help >Dispute Resolution

There may be times that a dispute can arise. For example, if there was a misunderstanding, someone made an error, or refusal of either the buyer or seller to complete the transaction.

Here are the guidelines trading partners should follow in the event of a dispute:

Step 1: Send a message to your trading partner

Often, simple misunderstandings can be resolved by simply contacting your trading partner. Most times, people are understanding and will make amends. A polite attitude can go a long way in resolving genuine mistakes.

Step 2: Make sure your contact information is correct

Quite often, your own contact information may be incorrect, preventing your trading partner from contacting you, or replying to your messages.

Step 3: Check your spam / junk email filters

Your email spam / junk filter may be too agressive and inadvertently filtered out legitimate messages. Double-check your email client's settings and also your junk folders to make sure that messages from your trading partner aren't being classified as junk mail.

Step 4: Request Contact Information

If you are unable to make email contact with your trading partner, it is time to give them a phone call. A simple phone call can do wonders to resolve misunderstandings, usually very quickly.
To request contact information, go to My eJay, and go to the "Find Contact Information" link under the Tools menu. Enter the item number and your trading partner's User ID, and you will be emailed the phone number of your trading partner, who will also receive an email with your phone number.

Step 5: Still unable to resolve the issue?

If you weren't able to resolve the issue, you can leave appropriate feedback for your trading partner. Remember that your feedback comments must adhere to the Feedback Policies. This will let other potential traders know of your experiences with your trading partner.
