Similar to shopping in a store, you will "checkout" any items that you have won (either
by winning an auction or by using InstantBuy).
Pre-Checkout
Checking out allows you to select the preferred postage method offered by the seller. The cost of the postage/shipping is then added to the winning price of the item, giving the total you will need to pay the seller.
Checking out also serves to provide your address to the seller to allow them to post the item to you. The seller may also provide a short note on specific requests, such as which bank account you should. deposit the payment into. You may also provide requests or final comments to the seller during the checkout process. These details are recorded into the system.
It is highly important that you completely finish the checkout process so that the payment and postage details are recorded into the system, which can then be used as proof when a dispute arises later (such as the address to post to or the total to pay).
Checkout Completed
Once the checkout process has been completed, it cannot be restarted. If you and your trading partner have a concern or issue after the checkout process has been completed, please contact support. All details recorded in the checkout process will remain confidential, and will only be available to the seller and the winning buyer.
After you have completed the checkout, you should wait for further action by the seller. The seller may contact you to confirm some details and/or to let you know that they've received the payment and the item has been posted/shipped.
